What are some of Southern California's greatest natural wonders?
SoCal truly is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Along with the sprawling desert landscape, rugged mountains, and gorgeous coastal vistas, there's a lot to explore in this scenic US region. One of our top picks for experiencing Southern California's best natural wonders is at a destination known as Lava Tube in the Mojave National Preserve. It is a beautiful tunnel made entirely of lava that can be explored. Along the way admire the otherworldly rock formations and rays of light shining through the cave at various points. Next on our list are La Brea Tar Pits. This fascinating Los Angeles destination is home to thousands of plant and animal fossils. Some other natural wonders in Southern California include Moreton Bay Fig Tree in Santa Barbara, Arroyo Tapiado Carrizo Badlands Mud Caves, Slot Canyon in Anza Borrego State Park, the Trona Pinnacles, Point Dume in Malibu, Zabriskie Point in Death Valley, Joshua Tree National Park, and the race track in Death Valley. For more information, see our previous article on thebest natural wonders in Southern California.
