I was told that the air conditioning will be out of order for a day. The air conditioning was off for the whole 4 days. Nobody came to see if we were okay. The fan only lasted 2 days due to the humidity. The property also needs updating, the wood is rotting. Otherwise the accommodation was nice

The suites we had were beautiful accommodations and the staff was helpful. To our delight, we found that the advertised room and meal prices were half that for US dollars.

Property was beautiful. Rooms incredibly big and great restaurants. And all the staff were wonderful: friendly, helpful and professional. The only problem, at least for us, was the location in a very remote part of the island. With few exceptions, and I mean "few" really, there was nothing within walking distance (no shops, restaurants, or pubs) and it's about a 30-minute drive or more to find food, shopping, or other swimming beaches

Run down - bad restaurants - surly staff - great beach
The whole place is very run down and needs a complete refurbishment. No air conditioning for 3 days out of 4. Pillow very lumpy and cheap. No blackout blinds, sunlight so bright it wakes you up at 6am. Restaurants all terrible. The staff are almost all moody and unhelpful. One or two exceptions, like Krystal at breakfast. Amazing beach and views are only redeeming feature.

Nice location if you like being away from the hustle and bustle of the city! We loved the beach and the staff. Our unit was wonderful. The air conditioning didn't work in our room and the elevator didn't work down to the beach but we were in paradise so it didn't bother us although others might have. Getting a rental car made exploring the country easier, but is not necessary due to the proximity to the airport. If you want to explore the island, this is the way to go!

Air conditioning doesn't work at all
Check-in was delayed by 1.5 hours. Air conditioning in the room is not available in non-renovated buildings. We stayed in the Harrissmith building overlooking the beach with good prevailing winds... thank goodness. The elevator to the beach is out of service and likely to stay that way IMO. Sunday is apparently a tough day at the resort. No cleaning service. And the highly rated l'Azure restaurant was buffet only due to lack of staff I would guess so we canceled and went from reservations to Le Shack and had spectacular food and service. Best not to eat at the Crane unless you have to. Saturday night we went to the Zen restaurant and reasonably ok with good air conditioning. The rooms have these old wooden blinds which are mostly broken or in disrepair...just part of the charm I guess. The fridge worked great. The toilet seats in the bathrooms do not stay up when a male pees. Pretty cumbersome, but doable with a little patience and preparation. We had a whirlpool tub in the tower which is really good for the polar bear club and the jets don't work. Washing machines worked well.

No air conditioning. Requested/confirmed a handicapped room, wheelchair accessible. The bed was 3ft high and needed a step stool. Couldn't or wouldn't move. We slept on a large sofa bed with fans.

First off, this is by far one of my worst vacations out of 200 trips around the world. We paid for 7 nights at the crane in a luxury 3 bedroom penthouse suite. On arrival we were put in a 3 bedroom apartment which did not match the pictures advertised on the Expedia listing. From the second night the nightmare got worse, fridge didn't work, dining table foot was missing, we filed several complaints with no response from management. 3 nights we asked about the private plunge pool mentioned in the listing. Only to be directed to an old pit they call a pool was extremely dirty and didn't have a pipe or anything. 4 nights where it gets worse. She said there is a problem with a toilet that we didn't even know was in the apartment and she will send maintenance to fix it. 9pm no one came to fix anything, at 10:30pm at night the whole apartment flooded only to see the same toilet overflowing with toilet water I will send security with towels. Waited 20 minutes for security, no towels! At this point I stumble upon Expedia. I called Expedia to get my money back and my accommodation for the remaining 2 nights which they said will contact them. I don't know what happened, they then give us another 3 bed room without private pool. If I continue, this would never end with my experience

I loved my suite at The Crane!!! The property is very, very well maintained. The suites/rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. The swimming pools are really pleasant. However, I would like to suggest that they provide better signage around the property. Just to better guide guests to find pools and restaurants. The food at L'Azure and the Italian restaurant was phenomenal! L'Azure was my favorite! The only disappointment during my seat was the room service! ! ! Room service was not reliable. They didn't come when they said they would. I ended up missing breakfast because when they arrived I was preparing to leave. Also, the elevator to the beach was out of service so you had a very long walk to the beach. Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay at The Crane. Keisha at the concierge was very helpful, patient and polite!

My experience was not as good as expected for booking the penthouse. The first day we got there the room wasn't cleaned properly. The toilet in one of the rooms didn't work, the air conditioning in the master bedroom didn't work and there was no hot water throughout our stay, although we complained.

Location and beach are amazing. The restaurants on the property are good overall. The beach bar, Italian restaurant and Bar 1887 are fantastic. The rooms need to be cleaner and better maintained. We had the best possible suite at the time of our booking, a 2 bedroom penthouse with private pool, everything sounds great but the suite was showing serious signs of wear so to speak. Terrible AC balance, either too hot or too cold, appliances, pots and pans, furniture even towels and sheets need serious updating. I've been going to the crane since 2018 and I feel nothing has been done to service it since then.

Great time, would stay here again
Beautiful property, we felt like we were in a luxury resort! Definitely get a sea view room with a plunge pool! We felt the accommodation lacked some attention to detail: missing TV remote, safe not working on arrival, housekeeping was supposed to be done at 8pm one evening so it seemed mold was growing on the couch in the living room, our room was getting cleaned a day left open/unlocked after cleaning. The remote control/safe were fixed quickly.

The Crane Resort is a traditional hotel with a beautiful history. The hotel is located 15 minutes from the international airport in a quiet part of the island. Our room was large with a nice balcony. Price/performance ok. Unfortunately, like many islands in the Caribbean, Barbados has been ravaged by weeds, making the beach unsuitable.
